Messzerepülő (“Farflyer”) |

The release date of the new Ghymes album titled Messzerepülő (“Farflyer”) is September 6th. It is published by EMI.
The album will be introduced in a concert right after the day of release (on September 7th). This event takes place in Buda Castle, and the program will contain several songs from the new album, that has never been played live before. |

The Ghymes band receives the Béla Bartók Memorial Award founded for the 125th birthday of the great Hungarian composer, Béla Bartók.

Ghymes organizes a festival for the first time. The Szikince-Ghymes festival will be held in Kéménd (near Párkány [Štúrovo]) on July 6th and 7th, 2006. |

The song titled Csillagreggae (“Star Reggae”), which is the title song of the film Üvegtigris 2 (“Glass Tiger 2”) has been nominated for one of the most respected award in the Hungarian movie arena, in the “best Hungarian film song” category.

Concert broadcasting on radio |

The concert featuring Tamás Szarka, the composer, which was held at the Liszt Ferenc Music Academy on February 22nd, 2006, was recorded by the Hungarian Radio (Petőfi Rádió), and will be broadcast in 2 parts. You can listen to the 1st part on April 21st, 11:15 pm, and the 2nd part on April 28th, 11:15 pm. |

Vérnász (“Blood Wedding”) in Komárom |

The debut of Federico Garcia Lorca’s play titled Vérnász (“Blood Wedding”) in the Jókai Színház (Jókai Theatre) was a great success. The music was written by Tamás Szarka, and he also plays a role in the drama, impersonating the Moon.

Children’s Concert at the Music Academy |

Just like in the previous years, there will be a large scale children’s concert in Budapest this spring as well. This time the venue will be the Liszt Ferenc Zeneakadémia (Liszt Ferenc Music Academy).
