Three concerts in the Budapest Congress Centre

Due to the huge demand, there will be a third performance of the Christmas Concert in the Budapest Congress Centre on December 28th, 8 p.m. Tickets are already available. The ticket offices are listed under the information icon on the Concerts page.

GONG in the Duna TV

A special edition of the weekly cultural magazine of the Duna TV (GONG) will be recorded live in the "Kolibri Pince és Teázó" in Budapest (Andrássy str. 77.) on 2004, December 9th, 7 p.m.
The two hosts are: Tibor Zalán and József Balog, emcees of the programme GONG.
Their guests are: poet Erzsébet Tóth and musician Szarka Tamás, composer and lyricist of the Ghymes band.
The programme will be broadcast on December 15th in the Duna TV.

Rock Hard Records released the brand new Ghymes album titled "éGHYMESe". It is available in the shops from now on.

New Ghymes album

The new Ghymes album titled "éGHYMESe" with new songs and music will soon be in the shops. (Participants on the album are: Gyula Szarka, Tamás Szarka, Mihály Borbély, Andor Buják, Péter Farnbauer, Bernadett Kiss, Balázs Neumann and Sándor Tiba.) The program of the Christmas Concert will contain some of the new songs. Our visitors can listen to sound samples from the new album within a few days.

Changes in the band

The Ghymes band will continue its activity with a new line-up from November 14th, 2004. Andor Buják (joined in 1984 and Attila Pukkai (joined in 1996) leave the band. The anniversary concerts in Párkány (Štúrovo) and in the Budapest Congress Centre will be held with two new permanent guests: Borbála Varga (saxophones) and Balázs Neumann (synthesizer).

Christmas Concerts

The guests of the Anniversary Concerts at Christmas will be Bernadett Kiss, Eszter Ónodi, László Földes (Hobo) and the Matáv Symphonic Orchestra conducted by András Ligeti. Further information about these performances is available in the Concerts page.

Sculpture inauguration in Rimaszombat

Our homepage has publicized a concert for some weeks that was to be held in Rimaszombat, on May 28th, on the occasion of the inauguration of a sculpture of Petõfi. In spite of the common intention of the organizers and the band, this concert had to be cancelled due to the lack of technical conditions. Nevertheless, we recommend the inaugurational ceremony to our visitors. Click here for details of the event.

On our homepage, under the "Tagok" (Szarka Tamás) menu item, you can read detailed (Hungarian language) information about the brand new Tamás Szarka solo album, Anonymus. You can also listen to short excerpts from each song.
